Inked Daisy

A single white daisy with a yellow center comes into the image from the right. All we see is the flower head. The blue sky is covered with textures reminicent of flower tatoos.

A lot of times in photography, less really is more. The starting image for this June composite was a white daisy against a blue sky from Pixabay. Rather than mess with the daisy, I decided to texture the sky. I started with some textures from Graphic Authority’s Inked collection, masking out the flower on each one. Thankfully, once I have a good mask, I cam just copy it to other layers. I threw in Giant Peach layer from Great Gatsby and added a couple of Flypaper textures with contrasty blend modes with Adobe Paper Texture Pro. I finished it off with a slight levels adjustment and a nice, subtle vignette. Even though it’s out of style, I still like that grunge look.

Check out the latest paper craft video on finger puppets. I’ve added two more downloadable, printable patterns: a jungle cat, witch and a skull. I’m hoping to have another paper craft video sometime next week.

    Take care and stay well.
